This page describes the current independent Minimal extension and its bundled website.

This website

This website has no analytics, advertising trackers or third-party scripts, and it does not read your tabs, history or bookmarks. The public website stores your manual language choice locally; the bundled extension website follows Chrome’s UI language. Images, scripts and the product film are served from the website itself.

If the website is hosted online, the server delivering it may receive an IP address, browser request information and access logs. Retention depends on the hosting configuration. This public static website does not run analytics or ad tracking.

Local extension data

The extension processes open-tab titles and complete URLs, recent browsing history and bookmarks you authorize locally to display, find and organize pages. For bubble sizing and frequently used sites, it stores complete URLs with daily focused time, engaged time and open counts for up to 30 days. It also keeps your 10 most recent search terms and chosen engines in extension storage. Collections, pins, settings, icon cache and close-undo records remain in the browser; none of this data is automatically uploaded or synced across devices. Small first-use guide completion flags also remain in local extension storage and contain no page content.

Checks before closing a page

Before recommending a tab for closure, the extension locally checks whether forms, password fields, file inputs, editable content, media or embedded pages may contain unsaved work. It passes risk states rather than input values, and does not store passwords, file contents or page text. Optional screenshot previews are off by default and, when enabled, stay in memory for about 10 minutes.

What can access the network?

Clicking a site or submitting a search opens the destination you choose. To display clear icons, the extension uses bundled icons, browser caches and website icon metadata. The last option can request the website or its declared icon address. Your complete private URLs are not sent to a third-party favicon service.

Optional page previews

Screenshot previews are off by default. When enabled, they capture only naturally visited pages without an overlay covering them. Up to 16 images are kept in memory for about 10 minutes. Disabling previews clears the cache. The extension does not switch tabs to take screenshots or upload them.

Permission, backup and removal

Bookmarks are read only after you grant permission; importing collections does not change your Chrome bookmarks. Collections → Data can export a full backup of collections, pins, appearance and page shortcut settings. Restore shows a preview and saves a local safety copy first. Uninstalling, clearing extension data or changing extension identity can remove local data, so export a backup beforehand. Undoing a tab closure reopens its URL but cannot restore unsaved forms or page state.

Google API data and Limited Use

TabToTask Minimal uses information received from Google APIs only to provide its visible tab, history, bookmark, search and download-safety features. It does not sell that information, use it for advertising, or allow people to read it. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
